Privacy Policy
How Spleasy handles account, shared-expense, subscription, support, and service information.
This policy explains how Spleasy collects and uses information when you use the Spleasy mobile application and related website.
Information we process
- Account information: your account identifier, display name, email address, authentication provider, and profile preferences.
- Profile image: You may choose one of Spleasy’s included character avatars or upload a profile photo. Uploaded photos are resized, metadata-stripped, stored privately, and used only to display your account profile. They are not used for facial recognition, advertising, analytics, or OCR. You can replace the image, return to your sign-in provider photo, or remove it through account deletion.
- Shared-expense information: groups, membership history, invitations, expense titles and amounts, currencies, payer and participant snapshots, change requests, settlements, and activity records you or other group members create.
- Receipt photos: Where the receipt feature is available, Pro users can choose one receipt photo per expense. The image is optimized before upload and stored privately for people authorized to view that expense. Spleasy does not use OCR to extract receipt text. Photos may contain personal or financial information; include only what is needed for the shared expense.
- Notification information: If you enable notifications, we process your push-delivery token, device registration identifier, language, time zone and notification preferences to deliver service updates through Firebase Cloud Messaging. You can change notification preferences in the app and device settings. Notification delivery is separate from product analytics.
- Subscription information: product, entitlement, purchase status, renewal and expiry information supplied by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat. Spleasy does not receive full payment-card details.
- Security and service information: app version, platform, security attestation, command and abuse-prevention receipts, and bounded referral-attribution records.
- Advertising and consent information: Free accounts may receive controlled post-success interstitial ads. Google Mobile Ads and its consent tools may process an IP-derived general location, device or app identifiers, ad and app interactions, and diagnostics for advertising, measurement, security, and consent choices. Spleasy requests non-personalized ads and does not attach account, group, expense, amount, currency, title, note, or other financial content to ad requests. Pro and other ad-free access does not initialize or request ads.
- Support information: messages and files you choose to send when requesting help.
Why we use information
We use information to provide and secure the service, calculate and display currency-separated balances, synchronize shared records, support user-initiated invitations and referrals, manage Pro and temporary reward access, respond to support, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.
Sharing and service providers
Information is visible to people who share a group as needed to provide the service. We use Firebase/Google Cloud for authentication, database, trusted functions, app attestation, remote configuration, private profile- and receipt-image storage, hosting and optional notification delivery through Firebase Cloud Messaging; RevenueCat for subscription entitlement management; Google Mobile Ads and UMP for controlled Free-account ads and consent choices; and Apple or Google for store purchases. The current mobile app does not include Firebase Analytics or Crashlytics. Website analytics is described separately below. We do not sell personal information.
Website analytics
With your consent, this website uses Google Analytics to understand visits to public pages. Google processes cookie identifiers, device and browser information, and usage data. We exclude invitation pages and remove query strings, fragments and referrers from configured page views. Advertising personalization and Google signals are disabled. Analytics cookies expire after six months. You can decline or withdraw consent using Cookie preferences in the footer. This website measurement is separate from the mobile app.
Retention and account deletion
You can request account deletion in the app or follow the instructions on the account deletion page. Authentication credentials, profile information, copied identity and free text are removed or scrubbed. Minimum shared numeric ledger and audit facts may remain in minimized, pseudonymized form for a bounded period so other participants retain an accurate ledger and disputes or confirmed settlements are not silently rewritten. Those facts may still be recognizable to people who shared the group. Group ownership or last-admin responsibilities must be transferred before deletion can finish. Deleting an account does not cancel a store subscription.
Security and international processing
Spleasy uses access controls, authenticated trusted operations, encryption in transit, platform attestation, and monitoring. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Service providers may process information in countries other than yours, subject to their safeguards and applicable law.
Your choices and rights
You may update profile information, manage advertising privacy choices when required, restore purchases, request access or correction, and request deletion. Rights vary by location. A verified request may require information sufficient to protect the account and other group members.
Audience
The launch audience and minimum-age policy are awaiting account-holder and qualified legal approval. Advertising remains a release blocker until that decision is reflected consistently in the product, Google child-treatment settings, consent message, store ratings and this policy.
